A huge fire in Marlborough forced street closures in the area

For 2 days in a row, firefighter have continued their work at the desert brush fire.

MASSACHUSETTS, Marlborough On Saturday morning, Marlborough police shut down Concord Road so firefighters could fight a brush fire for the second day running.

Close to Mosher Lane and Concord Road, the fire was threatening a desert natural area. As of 11:30 a.m., Marlborough police reported that Concord Road was closed between Sudbury Street and Hemenway Street Extension.

The fire’s smoke could be seen from nearby cities, including Sudbury.

For the better part of Friday, a strike team comprised of firefighters from 14 different departments worked together to contain and extinguish the brush fire. This photo was posted on Friday by the Wayland Fire Department:

Marlborough Patch was the first to report that streets in the town had been closed due to a large brush fire.
