A video of Rob Gronkowski playing at the Big3 Celebrity Game went viral

The former wide receiver’s footwork was too good. So even though Matt James tried his best to defend him, the former tight end got away.

Matt James did his best to stop the former tight end, but he was too deft for him to catch.

Things with Rob Gronkowski’s retirement have been proceeding as one would expect.

He didn’t just show up to the Monster Energy Big3 Celebrity Game; the former Patriots and Buccaneers tight end captained one of the teams and displayed his skills in the paint as well.

Matt James, a former Wake Forest wide receiver and a contestant on season 25 of The Bachelor, stood guard over Gronkowski, who is 6 feet 6 inches tall. After driving right, Gronkowski twisted and hit James with a nasty pump fake, sending him airborne and setting up an easy layup.

Joking and teasing at James’s expense followed.

In a June 21 press conference, the four-time Super Bowl winner made his retirement announcement. After winning Super Bowl LIII with the Patriots in 2019, he announced his retirement but later joined Tom Brady in Tampa Bay, where the two won Super Bowl LV.

He played in 12 games last year and caught 89 passes for 802 yards and six touchdowns. At age 33, he still looks like he has a lot of gas in the tank.
