Anne, 53, was a passenger in a car that crashed on August 5 in Los Angeles. The Los Angeles Fire Department claims that the actress was driving her Mini Cooper at high speeds when it “burst into flames and came to rest 30 feet inside the two-story home.”

A representative for the actress said in a statement to E! News, “Today we lost a bright light, a kind and most joyful soul, a loving mother, and a loyal friend.” “Anne was loved and respected by many, and while she will be sorely missed, her legacy will continue through her two handsome sons, her groundbreaking body of work, and the causes she championed so fiercely. Her courage in speaking her mind and encouraging others to do the same will have far-reaching effects.”

The actress from “Six Days, Seven Nights” had her life support turned off on August 14 after donors were found.

According to documents obtained by E! News from the Los Angeles County Department of Medical Examiner-Coroner, Anne died as a result of inhalation and thermal injuries sustained in a car accident. Her death was attributed to several factors, including a sternal fracture brought on by blunt trauma, according to the coroner’s office.
