Devin Bush has missed 14 games and failed to make the Pro Bowl in the three seasons after the Steelers selected him with the 10th overall pick in the draft. With Bush OR Robert Spillane listed as the starting inside linebacker position next to Myles Jack on the depth chart, Bush is no longer even guaranteed a starting position.

Bush’s contract expires in 2022 because the Steelers turned down the fifth-year option on it.

Bush, though, doesn’t think that this season will make or break the team.

We’ll see, said Bush, according to Mark Kaboly of “I’ll still be in the NFL (in 2023).

After suffering an ACL tear 22 months ago, Bush claims that his main current setback is adjusting to the new defensive coordinator Teryl Austin and linebackers coach Brian Flores.

His single play in 15 snaps Saturday night was the one he failed to complete because Bush had no stats.

Bush stated, “I believe we have some terrific things on tape.”

This season, Bush will play a part for the Steelers, but how much of one will depend on who emerges victorious at the position. That is not what the Pittsburgh Steelers anticipated when they selected him so highly, and it may indicate that this is his final campaign in the city.
