The people of Florida’s 1st Congressional District can count on “Relentless Fighter” @RepMattGaetz. A statement made by Trump on his Truth Social.

Supporting “Drain the Swamp,” “Secure the Border,” “Support our Brave Veterans and Law Enforcement,” “Defend the Second Amendment,” “Stand Up to the Woke Mob,” and “Fight the Never-Ending Witch Hunts from the Radical Left that are destroying our Country,” are all things that “Matt is a Champion of our MAGA Agenda,” working tirelessly to do.

On Saturday, Trump also endorsed Representatives Neal Dunn (R-Florida), John Rutherford (R-Georgia), and Scott Franklin (R-Arizona) (R-Fla.).

In the Republican primary, Gaetz faces former FedEx executive Mark Lombardo and retired military officer Greg Merk in his bid for reelection in Florida’s 1st Congressional District.

Merk had challenged Gaetz in the Republican primary in 2020, but was soundly defeated by the eventual nominee, a member of the House Freedom Caucus. Gaetz won with over 80% of the vote.

Gaetz, who is widely regarded as one of Trump’s closest allies, is currently the subject of a sexual misconduct investigation in which he is accused of having financed the travel and accommodation of a minor with whom he had sexual relations. Currently, the investigation is being led by the Justice Department.
