Kadarius Toney, a wide receiver for the Giants and a first-round pick in 2021, struggled to maintain a regular roster spot in his rookie year, and he faces the same challenge in his second year.

Many outlets have reported that Toney did not make the trip with the rest of the Giants’ regulars and will not play Thursday night against the Patriots. Toney had knee surgery in the offseason, so he has missed some training camp reps. This week, he also appeared to injure his hamstring.

Toney played in 10 games last season and had 39 receptions for 420 yards.

However, reports indicate that the Patriots will be sitting their starters for the entirety of the first quarter of their preseason opener.

The Giants will not have Kadarius Toney in their lineup. Originally broadcast on Pro Football Talk on Thursday
