According to Karl Rove, a member of the Secret Service tasked with protecting former President Donald Trump may have been the one to leak the information about the classified material at Mar-a-Lago.
The former senior adviser and deputy chief of staff to President George W. Bush, Karl Rove, 71, has speculated that a Secret Service agent informed the Justice Department during earlier conversations that the agency had not collected all of the classified material from Trump’s Palm Beach, Florida, home.
The judge has ordered the FBI to release the redacted version of the Trump Mar-a-Lago warrant tomorrow.
Although they are sworn federal law officers, the Secret Service has no statutory responsibility over classified material. This is pure conjecture on my part, as I know of nothing beyond the presence of the Secret Service. This group enforces the law. And if they see something suspicious, they should call the police,” he said to Fox News.
While campaigning for Gaetz, Donald Trump Jr. famously dismissed the idea that he was a mole.
As pointed out by the Guardian, the heavily redacted affidavit for the raid was made public on Friday. The document contains references to private areas of the resort, such as the foyer to Trump’s residence. This means that investigators knew a staggering amount of information about the layout of the ex-Florida president’s home.
The New York Times reported that Rove cited a document signed by Trump attorney Christina Bobb in which she claimed that the government had recovered all classified documents from Mar-a-Lago.
Rove explained that “someone wrote and said we don’t have classified material,” while a Secret Service agent “had a responsibility to report that through the chain of command because I have seen classified material still here within the walls of Mar-a-Lago.”
According to the outlet, a team of Department of Justice officials had quietly recovered more classified documents from Mar-a-Lago in June before Trump’s lawyer signed a document saying they had found everything.

Rove also questioned Trump’s motives for keeping the records.
He said, “I have no idea why he was keeping these materials when he had no legal authority to do so under the Presidential Records Act.”
