Nipsey Hussle will be honored for his significant contributions to music with a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame

The family of late rapper Nipsey Hussle has just been notified that he is set to be posthumously honored with a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame soon.

The family of Nipsey Hussle should give themselves a bittersweet congrats after learning that the late rapper will soon receive a posthumous star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.

Hussle was one of the honorees for the 2022 class, according to the official Walk of Fame website. In honor of the day he would have been 37 on Monday, August 15, the ceremony has been rescheduled. Young Money Entertainment Executive Vice President Karen Civil later tweeted the information on Wednesday.

Hussle, real name Ermias Joseph Asghedom, was shot many times and died on March 31, 2019, outside his Marathon Clothing Company store in the Crenshaw neighborhood of Los Angeles, as previously reported by The Root. His alleged killer, Eric Holder Jr., was found guilty of first-degree murder last month and now faces a life term in jail.

The opening of a brand-new train station in recognition of Neighborhood Nip was announced last week by Los Angeles’ Metro rail. According to CBS Los Angeles, the station is situated in Nipsey Hussle Square and will serve residents of some of the oldest South Central Los Angeles districts.

In addition, the Los Angeles City Council voted to seal the alley near the scene of Nipsey’s murder for the next 18 months due to the high crime rate in the neighborhood, as reported by the Los Angeles Times, weeks before the station’s debut.

Visit on August 15 at 1 p.m. ET to watch the rapper from Victory Lap’s Walk of Fame event.
