There has never been a shortage of drama on any of the Real Housewives shows. In all of its cities, many cast members have engaged in some shady behavior. Some of these incidents have been funny because they were so mild, but some viewers feel that some of the housewives over the years have not been scolded nearly enough for their behavior.
While the films in this series tend to be light and entertaining on the surface, they have occasionally dealt with serious and even harmful subject matter. Many viewers of “The Real Housewives of New York City” still remember Luann de Lesseps’ memorable Halloween outfit from season 10. Also noteworthy is the conflict that arose between Monique Samuels and Candiace Dillard-Bassett in season 5 of The Real Housewives of Potomac.
Certainly, there are instances in which women who have done wrong have grown from the experience and are making positive changes in their lives. However, not all disagreements can be settled so simply. A user on Reddit named “whoareyouindisworld” wanted to know which parts of The Real Housewives fans tend to skip over.
Competitors: Bethenny vs. Luann
In episode 8 of The Real Housewives of New York City, Bethenny and Luann got into an argument after Luann joked that Bethenny had copied her hairstyle during a visit to Dorinda Medley’s Blue Stone Manor. After some back-and-forth, Bethenny referred to Luann as a “sl*t and a liar,” and the situation quickly became more heated. At the reunion, she doubled down on her comments and said, “if it is, call me guilty” when Andy explained what sl*t-shaming was.
Pitting Brandi Against Joyce
Both Carlton Gebbia and Joyce Giraud joined the cast of Season 4 of The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills. Brandi Glanville’s history of controversy meant that viewers knew to expect questionable behavior from her this season. However, the time the cast spent in Palm Springs by the pool is a scene that fans believe doesn’t get enough attention. Brandi pretended to understand why Joyce couldn’t swim when she said, “you’re a Black person.”
When Gina Kirschenheiter and Noella Bergener’s relationship deteriorated during season 16 of The Real Housewives of Orange County, the ladies’ trip to Aspen turned ugly. When Gina had a few too many drinks with Noella, she became increasingly frustrated by her attitude. Gina’s response of “sh*t happens” to Shannon Beador’s reminder that her father had recently died was telling. Shannon strongly reprimanded Gina for making this remark in her journal, but she did not correct her in person.
The cast of The Real Housewives seems to have matured over the years, with newer cast members realizing when they’ve said or done something inappropriate. Nonetheless, there persist occasional occasions. The audience thinks that there are many more instances where cast members should have spoken out against something said by another housewife, but haven’t.
