PGA Tour 2K23 officially set for October release, with Tiger Woods on cover

The battle between EA and 2K is back on.

The action on the virtual course has been hotter since the last official PGA game for consoles was released little over two years ago. Since then, 2K has acquired Canadian game company HB Studios and locked up Tiger Woods with an exclusive contract, and EA Sports has said it will release a golf game of its own. Now, because PGA Tour 2K23 will be published later this year, we get to experience how both 2K develops on its previous golf game. Additionally, Tiger Woods, who was once closely associated with EA and golf video games, will be the cover athlete.

Tiger Woods, a legendary golfer, will be on the cover of PGA Tour 2K23. The licensing agreement was announced by 2K and Woods a year and a half prior to this.

Features from the previous game in the series, PGA Tour 2K21, will be included in PGA Tour 2K23. Online multiplayer and Online Societies will both be included in 2K23 once more, enabling users to compete against one another and organize their own tournaments. For 2K23, MyPlayer and Course Designer will also be back, along with the option to give those players branded clubs and apparel from companies like Titleist, Nike, and Bridgestone Golf.

There will be some brand-new additions, though. One of the key differences from its predecessor, which came out two years ago, will be a sizable roster. PGA Tour 2K23 will feature over 20 PGA golfers, including Justin Thomas, the 2K21 cover athlete, Collin Morikawa, Will Zalatoris, and the LPGA’s Brooke Henderson, Lydia Ko, and Lexi Thompson. These people will join Tiger Woods, a well-known golfing celebrity who frequently appears on video game covers.

For this year’s game, 2K and HB Studios will also include a number of additional game types. These include brand-new casual modes created to help seasoned golfers hone their techniques and let newbies get a feel for the game. The Topshot mode, which is based on the Topshot golf video games that have grown in popularity recently, will be one of the new game modes. In this new mode, users score points by striking targets that have been placed around the courses.

With new additions including Course of Wilmington Country Club, The Renaissance Club, and St. George’s Golf and Country Club, PGA Tour 2K23 will debut with 20 licensed courses.

On October 14, PGA Tour 2K23 is expected to be made available worldwide. On October 11, those who purchase the unique Tiger Woods and Deluxe Editions will get access to 2K23.
