House of the Dragon, HBO Max’s prequel series to “Game of Thrones,” has debuted. As the first episode premiered, it brought back fond memories of Game of Thrones. Just like before, there will be a bloody struggle for power and a family feud, but this time around the players will be different.

The events of House of the Dragon occur two hundred years before those of Game of Thrones. There are parallels between the two series’ characters even though they are separated by nine generations. For example, Daemon Targaryen, Viserys’s brother, shares some character traits with Viserys Targaryen, Deanerys’s older brother. In the prequel series, Rhaenyra stood out as a fan favorite. It’s interesting to note that many viewers agree that Rhaenyra Targaryen is similar to Daenerys.

First, your character.

Rhaenyra has many traits in common with Daenerys, if you take the time to observe them. They’re about the same height and both have silver hair. However, they both share the quality of being resistant to flames. They are immune to flames because they are both descended from Targaryens. Both Rhaenyra and Daenerys are depicted in the book as being incredibly headstrong and prone to flying into rages. It was because of her rage that Daenerys decided to use her dragon to destroy King’s Landing.

2. A Feeling of Dragon Love

Even if Daenerys and Rhaenyra aren’t skilled with swords, they know their way around dragons. While Daenerys quickly gains control of the dragons and becomes like a mother to them, Rhaenyra has been riding them since she was seven years old. Several nicknames and titles, including “The Dragon Queen,” were given to the pair after they were associated with the mythical creatures. Daenerys rides Drogon throughout the series, while Rhaenyra rides Syrax at the beginning. Just like Daenerys was devastated by the deaths of Viserion and Rhaegal, so was Rhaenyra by Syrax’s death.

The Third: Relatives and Family

Characters in grim shows like Game of Thrones or House of the Dragon are doomed to come from shady backgrounds and be related to villains. In the pilot episode of House of the Dragon, we learn that Rhaenyra’s mother passed away during childbirth. Daenerys’ mother passed away soon after giving birth to her on a dark and stormy night. Daenerys’s nickname, “Stormborn,” comes from this fact. It’s interesting to note that both Rhaenyra and Daenerys had two brothers who passed away before them.

Similarly, the two protagonists had their fair share of tainted relatives and family strife. Surely everyone is familiar with Viserys Targaryen, Daenerys’s evil older brother in Game of Thrones. He wanted the throne so badly that he married off his sister to Khal Drogo against her will. In his determination to reclaim the throne, he declared that he would resort to any means necessary, including forcing his sister to endure the physical abuse of all 40,000 of Drogo’s men and their horses. Rhaenyra’s uncle, Daemon Targaryen, is in tune with Viserys’s philosophy. In the pilot, we see him brutally kill multiple characters. It’s also obvious how badly he wants to seize power. Mushroom the dwarf claims that Daemon bribed Qurl to murder Rhaenyra’s husband Laenor. He proceeded to marry Rhaenyra in an obvious bid to secure his position on the throne.

4. A Tragic Ending Dance of the Dragons is the largest conflict fought during the Targaryen era. Rhaenyra and her half-brother Aegon II fought for control of the Iron Throne in this war. Most dragons perished in the war’s final explosions. At the conclusion of the conflict, Aegon’s dragon Sunfyre burned and devoured Rhaenyra. Her son was made to stand by and watch as she was executed.

The Battle of King’s Landing was a war in which Daenerys also participated. Daenerys, unlike Rhaenyra, was victorious in battle but still denied the Iron Throne. Daenerys’ lover/nephew Jon Snow stabbed her to death to prevent further devastation. Drogon, her dragon, watched as she took her last breaths, much like Rhaenyra’s son did.
