The defense of Britney Spears has been taken up by her attorney.

Spears’ lawyer, Mathew Rosengart, spoke to ET after Kevin Federline shared since-deleted private videos of the 40-year-old pop star and her sons, Sean, 16, and Jayden, 15, on Instagram late Wednesday.

“Britney Spears is a tremendously talented and dedicated icon who is adored and revered by millions of people all around the world. Unfortunately, Mr. Federline cannot say the same, as he made the terrible decision to conduct an unnecessary interview that harmed the mother of his children “The speech started with Rosengart.

“Britney has been a devoted parent, and she adores her kids. Whether or not he understands it, Mr. Federline has harmed the privacy and dignity of his children’s mother in addition to his own, whose privacy he should preserve “He went on. “Aside from his ITV interview, Mr. Federline made the poor choice to share an old video of his 11- and 12-year-old children, which was cruel and deplorable. He has now brought about numerous legal problems for himself, including, but not limited to, invoking cyber-harassment and cyber-bullying statutes, among other things, in addition to humiliating himself and transgressing social norms.”

In Rosengart’s opinion, “It has been my honor to work with Britney, to remove her father from his role as conservator, to assist her in regaining her freedom and dignity, and to assist in preventing the kind of bullying she has previously experienced because we will not stand for bullying in any setting. We are working with Instagram to make sure Mr. Federline abides by their policies, and we are looking into all available legal options to take action against him. In the interim, whatever is happening between Britney and her boys should stay private, as she poignantly stated. We implore Mr. Federline to conduct himself with a modicum of decency and grace and to stop airing personal concerns in public, as doing so serves no one.”

Spears was captured on camera reprimanding and arguing with her sons in the videos. She might have known she was being recorded at the time, but it’s uncertain. Federline’s agent has been contacted by ET for comment.

This follows an interview with Federline that was published in The Daily Mail and broadcast on ITV News in which Federline addressed their sons’ decision to not visit their mother. “Now, the lads have made up their minds that they don’t want to see her. They haven’t seen her in a few months, “said he. “They decided against attending her wedding. It’s been really, really, really difficult. It’s the most difficult task I’ve ever had to complete.”

In an earlier response to Federline’s remarks, Spears wrote on Instagram, My ex-decision husband’s to talk about the bond between me and my children hurts me.

Added she, “As we all know, it’s never easy to raise adolescent boys, and the fact that this is because of my Instagram worries me because I gave them everything back in the days before Instagram.

One word only: PAINFUL.”
