It’s not easy to find a good low-carb, keto, or gluten-free pizza crust recipe. Cauliflower, coconut, almond, and cheese dough are just some of the many options, but they each have their own set of difficulties.

Those who prefer flourless crusts understand how challenging it is to find low-carb, high-protein alternatives to traditional pizza dough. Dough can either taste like wet cardboard, be dry and crumbly, or take an eternity to prepare, depending on what you’re making.

TikTok star and food content creator Jackie Hartlaub just recently debuted a new pizza crust recipe that uses one unexpected and cheap ingredient. The crust is made with only three simple ingredients, which is always a plus.

The video of her unconventional pizza crust recipe has been viewed over 22 million times and is widely considered a game changer. In fact, some reviewers claimed it to be the best gluten-free pizza alternative they’d ever had.

Millions of people have been motivated by Hartlaub’s @lowcarbstateofmind. Tempting low-carb and keto recipes posted to a TikTok account. We had a good feeling about her chicken pizza crust recipe when she first introduced it.

Hartlaub claims that a can of chicken can be used to make a delicious, high-protein pizza crust. All you need is one large egg, half a cup of parmesan cheese, and a 10-ounce can of chicken.

Hartlaub uses real parmesan cheese in this recipe but admits that the fake parmesan cheese in the green bottle produces better results. She mixes the three ingredients, then adds dried basil and oregano and forms the dough into a circle on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. Once the oven has been preheated to 425 degrees Fahrenheit, she puts the dish in for 20 minutes.

Hartlaub ingeniously finishes her chicken pizza crust by returning it to the oven and topping it with sugar-free BBQ sauce, shredded Monterey cheese, sliced red onion, and diced bacon. She does not say how long to broil it, but we recommend a few minutes to melt the cheese and crisp the bacon.

Some of Hartlaub’s fans didn’t know what to make of the canned chicken, despite the fact that the low-carb pizza hack was delicious. Did you say a can of chicken?” “What in the United States,” said one observer.

Like tuna fish, canned chicken is an inexpensive staple that can be used to bulk up salads and sandwiches without breaking the bank. Canned chicken is convenient because it is already fully cooked and only needs to be drained before it can be used in recipes like chicken salad, buffalo chicken dip, or even a pizza crust.

The finished product looks very similar to traditional thin-crust pizza dough, as shown in Hartlaub’s video. The crust holds together well when combined with egg and cheese, and can even become slightly crispy depending on how long it is cooked.

The crust has a distinct chicken flavor, which pairs well with the rest of Hartlaub’s toppings to create a delicious BBQ chicken pizza. Alternatively, you could use pesto sauce with fresh basil, tomatoes, and mozzarella, or alfredo sauce with spinach, onions, and mozzarella. The potential is enormous.
