Players are crossing their fingers that a certain feature will be included in Warzone 2, one of 2022’s most anticipated games. Players on consoles have been promised the ability to adjust their field of view. FOV was instead implemented for console players of Call of Duty: Vanguard, but was left out for those who play Warzone. Activision has previously explained why it will not be added to console, saying that it would only increase the skill gap between experienced players and newcomers.

Recent reports, however, suggest that Activision may have changed their minds.

According to what I’ve heard, FOV slider support for older consoles is guaranteed in all iw9 projects (mp,wz2,dmz) To use a Metaphor: — Metaphor (@Metaaphor) When: Tuesday, August 18, 2022

Metaphor, a popular Warzone streamer, claims that the FOV slider, which has been widely speculated about, will be implemented in all IW 9.0 projects. Infinity Ward, Treyarch, and Sledgehammer Games have collaborated to create the new IW 9.0 engine, which will power the next Warzone. Now, gamers on consoles should be able to adjust the field of view.

As you may have guessed, this will push previous-gen consoles even further into the past. It would be a huge win for Activision if the FOV update was legit. It can be tricky to balance the opinions of your community, especially if some of the changes being suggested aren’t as important to the majority of players.

As Activision has not officially announced this update, the rumor should be taken with a grain of salt.
