A new avoid list feature is being considered for Valorant as a way to help players cope with the game’s high volume of toxic users.

As everyone knows, Valorant is a very toxic multiplayer game. Despite widespread belief that the Counter-Strike: Global Offensive and Dota 2 communities are the worst of the worst, Valorant has succeeded in unseating them. Riot Games has taken numerous, sometimes extreme, steps to combat this issue, but to little avail.

Riot is currently considering crowdsourcing the tasks. Courageous players may soon have the option to manage their own avoid lists.

The Valorant files contained a warnings list.

There is evidence to suggest that an avoid player list feature is being planned for implementation into Valorant by Riot Games. ValorLeaks, a data miner and leaker who has previously delayed the rollout of several features, made the discovery.

Several other well-known MMOs also make use of avoid lists. It’s exactly what it sounds like: a way for one player to prevent another from ever joining their team in a game. Avoiding toxic communications or potentially game-ruinous behavior is an added benefit, even if it doesn’t prevent a player from being an opponent.

There are typically limits put in place to ensure that players interact with those they lose to. In Dota 2, for instance, players are limited in how many other players they can prevent from joining their team. According to ValorLeaks, players on Valorant’s avoid list will be removed within “the next few days.”

What is the expected rollout date for the block list function?

On August 23, with the release of Valorant Episode 5, Act 2, the avoid list function may be removed.

This feature hasn’t even been officially announced yet, let alone given a release window. The next Valorant season begins in a matter of days, and this discovery couldn’t come at a better time. However, the stage of development of this feature is unknown. The game could be delayed until a later time, or Riot Games could decide to cancel the project altogether.

WIN.gg announced first that Valorant may soon add an avoid list feature.
